What is Claim Cal?
Claim Cal is a web application built for Australian personal injury lawyers. It brings together three essential calculation tools into a single platform, so you can build damages schedules, analyse economic loss, and track settlement negotiations without switching between spreadsheets, manual calculators, or disconnected files.
Everything is organised around your cases. Create a case once, then use any combination of the three tools against it. Your data is saved automatically and accessible from any browser.
The Three Tools
Damages Calculator
Build a detailed schedule of damages for any personal injury claim. Add heads of damage -- general damages, past and future medical expenses, economic loss, attendant care, out-of-pocket expenses, and more. Each head supports multiple line items with individual calculations. When your schedule is ready, export it as a formatted Word document suitable for filing or exchange with the other side.
Economic Loss Analyser
Perform detailed past and future earnings analysis using ABS Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) data. The analyser handles tax calculations, superannuation contributions, and discount-to-present-value adjustments automatically. An interactive chart visualises the earnings comparison between the claimant's pre-injury and post-injury earning capacity across the relevant period.
Settlement Tracker
A live negotiation tool designed for use during mediations and settlement conferences. Track offers and counter-offers from both the plaintiff and defendant, see take-home calculations after legal costs and outlays, and monitor the gap between parties in real time. Run multiple settlement sessions per case to compare different negotiation scenarios.
Australian Jurisdictions
Claim Cal is built specifically for the Australian legal system. It includes regulatory data for all states and territories, including:
- ABS Average Weekly Earnings data for economic loss calculations
- RBA cash rates for pre-judgment interest
- Life expectancy tables
- Discount multipliers (5% prescribed rate)
- Attendant care rates (NSW and Victoria)
- MEC/MAS thresholds (NSW motor accidents)
- ISV tables (Queensland)
The regulatory data is maintained and updated as new figures are published.
Pricing
Claim Cal uses simple per-case pricing. Each case costs $99 inc GST as a one-time activation fee. Once activated, a case unlocks all three tools with no time limits or recurring charges.
Every new organisation receives 3 free cases to get started, so you can try all the tools before committing.
ℹ️ Note
There are no monthly platform fees. You only pay when you create a case, and each case gives you full access to the Damages Calculator, Economic Loss Analyser, and Settlement Tracker.
